Note: These instructions were created for use with a Windows Surface. If using a different device, the steps may vary.
Accessing the TCC S drive requires the use of a special application called VPN (virtual private network) client.
The first step is to install and configure the VPN client
1. Open an Internet browser window and visit vpn.tcc.fl.edu.
2. On the Please Login menu:
a. Type your TCC Username (the first part of your TCC email address) in the Name field.
b. Type in your TCC Password in the Password field.
c. Click Login.

3. On the TCC-VPN Portal menu:
a. Click the drop-down menu labeled Download FortiClient.

4. On the Download FortiClient drop-down menu:
a. Select the operating system of your computer/device.

5. Click on the FortiClient Installer file from your downloads folder. When the installation is initiated the FortiClient Installer dialog box below will open. Installation may take up to five minutes to complete.

6. On the Welcome to the FortiClient Setup Wizard menu:
a. After you have read the license agreement, check the box next to “Yes, I have read and accept the..."
b. Click Next.

7. On the Destination Folder menu:
a. Keep the install destination set to the default setting.
b. Click Next.

8. On the Ready to install FortiClient menu:
a. Click Install.

9. On the Completed the FortiClient Setup Wizard menu:
a. Click Finish.

10. A security scan will begin on your computer. While the scan runs in the background:
a. Click the Show hidden icons arrow.
b. Click the FortiClient icon.
c. Select Open FortiClient Console.

11. On the FortiClient Console menu:
a. Select the Remote Access tab.
b. Click Configure VPN link.

12. On the New VPN Connection menu:
a. In the Connection Name field type TCCVPN.
b. In the Remote Gateway field type in vpn.tcc.fl.edu.
c. Under Authentication select Prompt on login option.
d. Leave other fields at their default.
e. Click Apply.
f. Click Close.

13. On the FortiClient Console menu (if it is not already open, it is available in the Windows taskbar):
a. Your connection name will be displayed (TCCVPN).
b. Type your TCC Username (the first part of your TCC email address) in the Username field.
c. Type your TCC Password in the Password field.
d. Click Connect.

14. To disconnect TCCVPN:
a. Click the Show hidden icons arrow.
b. Click the FortiClient icon.
c. Select Disconnect "TCCVPN".

Once the VPN client is installed, configured, and connected, you can create a link to the S drive.
- Open "This PC"
- Click in the address bar, then type \\fs02.tcc.fl.edu and press enter.

In the window that opens locate the shared folder and right-click it

Click the Map network drive option.

Set the dropdown to S: and click Finish.

Your S: drive is now mapped and should look like this.
