How do I apply for admission to TCC?

In order to attend our college all new, incoming students must complete the following steps: 

Step 1. Apply for Admission

  • Apply for admission using our online application: http://www.tcc.fl.edu/admissions/apply/ 
  • After submitting the admission application you will receive an email to your personal email account that will include your TCC Student Identification number, TCC email address and password. Keep this page for your records as you will need this information to log in to TCC Workday Student and to access your TCC Outlook email.
  • Once you gain access to Workday, you will need to check your account for holds or actions items in order to complete your admission file.  
  • Florida Residency for tuition purposes.  Submit copies of the documents you need to prove that you or your parent/legal guardian are Florida residents (e.g., driver license, vehicle registration, voter’s registration card) that reflect an issue date of at least 12 months prior to the first day of class for the semester you plan to attend. Documents should be uploaded to the Docusign residency form, or submitted in-person to the Office of Admissions and Records or sent via email to AR@tcc.fl.edu.  

NOTE: Transient students who apply to TCC through Florida Shines will need to call our Information Technology Help Desk at (850) 201-8545 to request their user name and password for their Workday account.

Step 2. Apply for Financial Aid

Apply for financial aid by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): https://studentaid.gov/

Step 3: Request High School Transcript or GED Test Scores

Request your official high school transcript or GED test scores be sent to TCC. Admission to the college requires a standard high school diploma or GED. It is important for your records to be sent as soon as possible (after graduation) so that information on your transcript can be used to assist with your first semester course scheduling. 

Step 4: Request College/University Transcripts (If Applicable)

Request any and all college/universities transcripts, if applicable. Transfer students are required to submit official college transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. 

Step 5: Review Placement Testing Information

Review the placement testing information and all our free testing resources: Testing Center - Tallahassee Community College (fl.edu)

Step 6: Online Portal, Workday Student 

Familiarize yourself with our online portal Workday Student where you can access your email, student records, degree audit, registration and much more. Be sure to check your TCC Outlook email frequently as this is the College’s official means of communication to students www.tcc.fl.edu/workday

Step 7: Check for Upcoming Deadlines

Review the academic calendar and make note of key important dates, including:

  • First Day of Class
  • Last Day to Add a Class
  • Last Day to Drop a Class
  • Fee Payment Due Date

Step 8: Pay Tuition and Fees

Be sure that all of your tuition and fees are paid by the fee payment due date. The due date can be found on the academic calendar and your schedule.

Step 9: Get Your Student ID Card

TCC uses a digital ID for use at TCC's library, Lifetime Sports Complex, and other places on and off campus. After completing the steps below, access your digital ID via the MyTCC app. 
The plastic TCC student ID card is used for students in healthcare (dental, EMS, and nursing students), Honors students, and StarMetro passengers who have paid to use this bus service.

Obtain a Digital ID

1.   Visit https://www.tcc.fl.edu/CloudCard

2.   Upload your photo (to be used as your digital id) 

  • Photo should be cropped slightly above your head to the middle of your chest
  • Photo should be taken against a plain, light background
  • Photo must be in color
  • You must not be wearing sunglasses or a hat
  • You must be positioned directly facing the camera
  • Your eyes should be open and looking at the camera

3.  Upload a photo of a valid government-issued ID (driver's license, state-issued ID card, military ID, or passport)

Obtain a Plastic Student ID

To obtain a plastic TCC student ID you must visit TCC's Campus Police Department located on the second floor of the Center Building. You will need to be fully admitted to TCC and bring a valid government-issued ID (driver's license, state-issued ID card, military ID, or passport).

Note to New students: Your first ID is paid for as part of your tuition and fees. You will be eligible for a plastic ID the week prior to classes starting if you have either paid your tuition and fees or have financial aid that covers the cost of your tuition and fees.

Step 10: Get Books and Supplies

Get your books and supplies for your classes by visiting the TCC Bookstore.
