What is the grade forgiveness policy?

Students are allowed to repeat a credit class for forgiveness up to four times. (The fourth attempt will require approval of a Student Success advisor and the Enrollment Appeals Committee.) Students are allowed to repeat a class for forgiveness up to two times. (A fourth attempt is not permitted without appropriate approval.)

On the third and fourth attempt of a class, students will be charged full cost of instruction (out-of-state tuition). A student that makes a grade of “D” or “F” in a class can retake the same exact class and the grade will be replaced in the TCC GPA. (Grades of “C,” “B” and “A” may not be repeated for forgiveness.)

The original grade is never removed from the transcript, but it will be replaced in the GPA.

Remember, developmental classes are not included in TCC GPA calculations.
