Students interested in summer financial aid should go online to their TCC Passport account and complete the 2016 Summer Request For Financial Aid. Please make sure you fill out both your 2015-16 & 2016-17 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to the start of the summer term.
This summer application does not replace the need for a FAFSA and for TCC to have a valid ISIR or SAR.
Students indicate their enrollment status for the summer semester they will be attending TCC on the summer application. This status is used for estimating financial need. The actual enrollment status will be determined at the end of regular drop/add and will be one factor used in determining the actual amounts for which students are eligible. The estimated award may be revised if the final enrollment status is different from the enrollment status awarded.
Summer Loans:
Promissory Note and Disbursement
When a Federal Direct Student Loan is for one semester only (e.g., fall only, spring only, summer only), the federal government requires the College to make the loan in two payments, with one occurring after the mid-point of the semester. Students who receive a one semester loan should make appropriate plans.
Enrollment Status
To receive any loans a student must be enrolled for at least 6 eligible credit hours as a degree seeking student and meet the financial aid satisfactory progress requirements.
Students who attend multiple sessions within a semester cannot receive their loans until they are attending at least 6 eligible credit hours. Students may be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours, but the loans cannot be paid until the student has verified attendance in 6 credit hours.
